These terms apply when you use Vitalis. They are short because the product is simple: we give you tools to record and understand your own data, and you stay responsible for the decisions you make with it.
Vitalis is a self-tracking and analysis tool for body measurements, training, nutrition and sleep. It computes derived values from published formulas and, when you ask, uses a language model to explain those values in plain language.
It is not a medical device, not a diagnostic service, and not a substitute for a doctor, registered dietitian or qualified coach.
Nothing in Vitalis is medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Reports, plans and assistant replies are informational. They are generated from the data you enter and from general published guidance — they cannot account for conditions we do not know about.
By using the app you confirm you understand that it produces estimates, that those estimates can be wrong, and that decisions about your health remain yours. See the Health Disclaimer for the specific situations in which you should talk to a professional instead.
Derived values rest on published formulas — Mifflin-St Jeor for basal metabolic rate, Deurenberg for body-fat estimation, ACSM activity factors. These are population estimates, not measurements of you.
Individual error is typically in the range of 10–15%. A TDEE figure is a starting point to adjust from. Body-fat estimates from circumference are less precise still.
AI-generated text can be wrong, incomplete, or plausible-sounding but incorrect. It is also non-deterministic: the same question may produce different answers on different days. Check anything important against a source you trust.
Do not use Vitalis to:
You own the records you enter. You grant us only the limited licence needed to store them, process them and show them back to you — including sending a summary to our AI provider when you use the assistant, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership, we do not sell your data, and we do not publish it.
Vitalis is free and provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and features may change or be removed.
If we discontinue the service, we will announce it in the app at least 60 days before the shutdown date and keep the export working for at least 90 days after it, so you can take your data with you. You can export at any time without waiting for that notice.
Vitalis is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profits, lost opportunities, damage to reputation — or for loss arising from a decision you took on the basis of an estimate the app produced, provided the estimate was produced without negligence or deliberate misconduct on our part.
This exclusion does not cover loss caused by our negligence, our breach of these terms, or content we present in a way that misleads a reasonable reader.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including, for consumers in the EU and the UK, your statutory rights and our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
You can stop using Vitalis at any time, and ask us to delete your account through the contact form — there is no self-service deletion button yet.
We may suspend or close an account for a serious breach of these terms, or for repeated minor breaches after we have told you about them. For a first minor breach we will normally warn you and give you a chance to fix it. Where we act because of an immediate security risk we may act first and explain afterwards. In either case, we will keep an export path open for at least 30 days so you can retrieve your data.
We may update these terms, but only for a reason: a change in the law, a change in what the service does, a security need, or a clarification of something already intended. We will not use an update to remove rights you already relied on, or to make the terms retroactively harsher.
The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects your rights, we will announce it in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you can stop using the service and export your data in that window.
These terms are governed by the law of the country in which the operator of Vitalis resides. You can ask which country that is through the contact form, and we will answer. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
